Workshop "Whales and dolphins of the Mediterranean”
This workshop will allow children to discover Mediterranean mammals and the role of marine protected areas in general and the Pelagos Sanctuary in particular.
This event is proposed by the Permanent Secretariat of the Pelagos Agreement and will be carried out with the educational team of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco.

Reception time for the three classes: from 1pm to 5pm

Programme:
1pm: Welcome and general presentation of the Museum and its activities
1.30 pm to 2.30 pm:
- Class 1: "Mediterranean mammals" workshop
- Class 2 and 3: treasure hunt in the Mediterranean Room in mixed teams (2 pupils from each class per team)
2.30 to 3.30 pm:
- Class 2: "Mediterranean mammals" workshop
- Class 1 and 3: treasure hunt in the Monaco & the Ocean Room (the beginnings of oceanography and Albert I)
3.30 pm to 4.30 pm:
- Class 3: "Mediterranean mammals" workshop
- Class 1 and 2: treasure hunt at the Aquarium and in the Monaco & the Ocean Room (30 min per room)
The workshop includes:
- A puzzle game to discover the main characteristics of each species;
- A sound quiz to discover and learn to distinguish the "sounds" of different marine mammals;
- Work on identifying and understanding the threats to marine mammals;
- A presentation of the Pelagos Sanctuary and the role of marine protected areas SPAMI in the protection of marine species.
